General permanent make-up advice

Please contact us if your answer is ‘yes’ to any of the following:

-Are you under the age of 18?
-Are you pregnant or breastfeeding?
-Do you suffer from any allergies or skin conditions?
-Do you suffer from any medical conditions?
-Are you taking any medications including herbal remedies?

1 week prior to your appointment

Please ensure you have read through all of the pre-treatment advice and aftercare advice that you have been sent.

If you are having a lip treatment and suffer from cold sores, now is the best time to start applying Zovirax 4 times a day or start taking tablets prescribed by your doctor.

Avoid sun beds or tanning at least one week prior to treatment. If you have a suntan on the day of treatment, it may not be possible to perform the eyebrow treatment as results will be compromised.

Avoid alcohol and Ibuprofen 48 hours prior to your treatment.

If you are having a lash enhancement or eyeliner please remove contact lenses and false lashes 24 hours prior to your booking.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE LASHES IF YOU ARE HAVING A BROW OR LIP TREATMENT.

Please leave plenty of time to get to your appointment, taking into consideration parking and traffic.

Useful Information

If you are planning on having an MRI scan, chemical peel or any other medical/cosmetic procedure, please inform your practitioner that you have undergone permanent makeup treatments. If you want to give blood following permanent makeup treatments, please inform The National Blood Service, as you will not be eligible for blood donation until between 4 months and a year following treatment.

Microblading, Powder Brows and Combination Brows

Avoid Aspirin or Ibuprofen before your treatment, as this can make you more prone to bruising. We recommend you avoid anti-inflammatory medication for at least 3 days before your appointment.

Do not however discontinue any medication without prior consent from your GP.

A patch test will be required before undergoing the procedure. This will be posted to you along with instructions or may be provided by Jade at your consultation.

It is advisable to not drink alcohol the night before your appointment.

Avoid the use of topical preparations containing AHA’s, Retinoids or steroidal creams near the treatment area for at least 4 weeks before your appointment.

Avoid any cosmetic procedures, including Botox for at least 14 days prior to your appointment.

Avoid extreme sun exposure and sun beds for at least 7 days before your procedure.

If there are any changes with your health/medication (including antibiotics) since your initial booking, please advise ASAP.

If the area to be treated shows signs of skin trauma, dryness, blemishes or imperfections 48 hours before, please advise ASAP as this may mean treatment cannot go ahead.

We cannot treat anyone under the influence of recreational drugs or alcohol.

Lip Blush

Any waxing or bleaching treatments should not be carried out for at least 2 weeks before/ following your appointment.

The lip blush procedure does not cause cold sores, however, if you carry the virus, you will need to take your medication or any Herpes medication from the chemist such as Zovirax once a day for at least one week before your appointment as this will help to reduce the chances of an outbreak.

If you have ever had a cold sore, you carry the virus. You may need to discuss this with your GP in order to obtain a prescription to avoid an outbreak. Please click on the link below to learn more about anti-viral medication.  I also recommend the preventative coldsore balm for all lip treatment client LIPIVIR. Apply one week before the service.

Ensure you are moisturising and exfoliating your lips well in the lead up to your appointment. Dry skin will not retain pigment and sore lips cannot be treated. Natural ingredient lip balms are preferred over vaseline. Lip scrubs are readily available online or in beauty retailers. The better condition your lips are in before the treatment, the better the results!

Please avoid any lip fillers in the lead up to your appointment, ideally at least 30 days prior.

Avoid the use of lip stains for at least 2 weeks before/following your appointment.

Eyeliner Enhancement

Ensure any false eyelashes have been professionally removed at least 48 hours before your appointment.

If you have been using any eyelash growth serums, please advise ASAP.

There are some eyelash growth serums that can cause bruising up to 6 months after use.

Do not wear false eyelashes to your appointment.

Please remove your contact lenses prior to your treatment time.

Avoid wearing contact lenses immediately after your treatment.

If you notice any imperfections or infection on or in the eye 48 hours before your appointment, please advise ASAP.

Any eyelash tinting or perming/LVL should be carried out 14 days before your appointment.

Please double cleanse and ensure you are makeup free before your appointment.

Microneedling and Mesotherapy

Before your microneedling or mesotherapy treatment, consider the following pre-care guidelines to prepare your skin for the rejuvenating experience ahead:

Avoid sun exposure

Minimize sun exposure and tanning beds for at least a week before your treatment to reduce the risk of skin irritation and sensitivity.

Discontinue certain products

Refrain from using retinoids, exfoliants, and other harsh skincare products for a few days leading up to your treatment, as they may increase skin sensitivity.

Stay hydrated

Maintain adequate hydration by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Well-hydrated skin tends to respond better to treatments.

Inform Jade

Be sure to inform your provider of any recent skincare treatments, medications, or medical conditions to ensure that your treatment plan is tailored to your specific needs.

Neostrata chemical peel

Following your consultation where Jade will ask about your medical history and any medications you are currently using that may affect peel results, you may be advised to stop using certain medications or topical skincare products.

You may also be instructed to prepare your skin for a chemical peel with products to condition the skin and acclimate the skin to the peel solution prior to receiving a professional chemical peel.

Avoid direct sunlight and use SPF 50+ cream on the area to be treated for 4 weeks prior to the laser tattoo removal session
Do not use fake tan products for 4 weeks prior to the laser removal treatment
Do not shave, wax, exfoliate, or do any other skin irritation treatments on the area to be treated for 1 week prior to the treatment
It is highly advisable to use a cold pack on the treated area for 10 minutes once every hour after your laser removal session. Thus it is important that you plan your day after the treatment so you are able to access and use the cold pack every hour.
