permanent make-up Aftercare
General advice
For the first few days, the colour will look darker than expected. This will fade as the skin heals.
Some itchiness and irritation is normal.
Avoid scratching the area and contact Jade if you notice anything unusual.
For the following two weeks, you should avoid excessive heat, saunas, swimming, direct sunlight, sunbeds, saltwater, direct shower spray and jacuzzis.
Do not apply makeup, skin cream, or ointments to the treated area for 2 weeks, other than what is recommended by Jade.
Whilst glycolic acid, used in some toners, gels and serums, is an amazing ingredient for boosting collagen and revealing smoother, brighter skin, it’s also an exfoliant which means it’s no friend to permanent makeup. It will dramatically fade your pigment and could cause a colour change.
Some of my clients do swear by glycolic products, so I tell them to use the product sparingly and to always, always avoid their eyebrows
Powder Brows, Microblading and Combination Brows
Always ensure your hands are clean and sanitised prior to each cleansing routine.

If you suffer with cold sores at present or anytime in the past use an anti – herpes medication for example Zovirax, 5 times daily for a period of 1 week or Acyclovir tablets a few days before and after your treatment. If an outbreak does occur it will generally begin on day 3 of the healing process. Acyclovir prescription and zovirax will help to speed up the cold sore healing process but may look undesirable for a couple of days. This will not affect the healed result.
The next day they will appear much darker in colour.
Day 3 – 5 colour will shed away in flakes it is important not to pick this off as the colour will come out too. Let the flakes come off on their own in patches.
After the flakes are off your lips will appear as if little or no colour is present. Over the next 6 weeks the colour will blossom into a considerably softer version of the original colour.
The approximate healing period is 14 days, however healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised, if you are generally stressed and by poor diet. Recent studies show if a client has previously had Covid – 19, the healing does take longer than usual.
Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of the top up is to allow Jade to fine tune your enhancement. Skin Treatments Aftercare
Dermaplaning
You may return to your normal daily activities, except do not wear make up on the day of treatment.
Use gentle cleanser and light moisturiser for 7 days post treatment.
Avoid excessive heat, sun beds, steam rooms/saunas, sun exposure for a minimum of 3 days post treatment.
If you must be in the sun, apply a minimum of SPF30, reapply often, wear a hat and seek shade where possible.
Avoid waxes, peels, scrubs for at least 7 days.
Use self tan sparingly as absorption will be increased.
Profhilo
Immediately after treatment you should avoid wearing make-up, and give sports, swimming and any other strenuous physical activity a miss for 24 hours.
It is also best to avoid saunas and steam rooms for a few days after treatment.
In order to reduce bruising, it is important to adhere to the aftercare regime. Please avoid any medications such as Ibuprofen, Naproxen or Diclofenac, Fish Oils, Omega 3 Fatty Acid, Garlic, High Dose Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort and Ginseng for the week prior and week following a treatment unless medically necessary or after discussion with Jade
You can apply a cool compress to the treatment area (do not apply ice directly to the skin) for 10 minutes every half an hour on the day of treatment if needed.
Avoid any heat inducing activities for 24 hours such as strenuous exercise, spas, saunas and hot showers as it increases the likelihood of bruising.
Avoid facials, waxing, chemical peels, skin needling, microdermabrasion, IPL or laser treatments to the area of treatment for 2 weeks after treatment.
Neostrata chemical peel
There is often little to no healing time following Neostrata.
Skin looks and feels normal within a few days to a week after.
Skin may be sensitive for 1-4 days after the treatment but may take a week or a little longer. During this time you would use gentle products.
Once your skin has healed you can return to using your normal daily regime/products.
Microneedling
After your microneedling or mesotherapy treatment, it is essential to follow these after care guidelines to support the healing process and optimize the results:
1. Keep your skin clean and protected
Follow Jade’s instructions for cleansing and protecting your skin post-treatment. Use gentle, non-abrasive products and avoid direct sun exposure, as your skin may be more susceptible to damage.
2. Moisturise regularly
Hydrate your skin with a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturiser to promote healing, maintain skin health and help alleviate any temporary dryness or flakiness.. Non-comedogenic moisturisers are a hydrating cream or lotion specially formulated not to clog pores or cause blackheads. High Street products recommended include products such as Cetaphil, Neutrogena, CeraVe etc.
3. Avoid intense activities
Refrain from vigorous exercise, swimming, and activities that cause excessive sweating for at least 24-48 hours post-treatment to minimise the risk of irritation or infection.
4. Protect your skin from the sun
Shield your skin from direct sunlight by wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
Hair Treatments Aftercare
Reactions from treatment can include: skin redness and flushing, tightness, itching, tenderness, stinging, swelling and some pinpoint bleeding.
Effects will usually typically resolve within hours and many people are able to return to their normal activities the same or next day. Some people may react differently and may experience these reactions for longer. However, these reactions are temporary and typically resolve within 3-4 days as the skin returns to normal.
There is a small risk of side effects causing the skin to turn very red, blister, swell, peel and later scab and crust. In severe cases infection and ulceration may result, although this is not expected to occur due to the sterility of the derma roller/microneedling device and the minimally invasive nature of the micro-medical needles.
Microneedle therapy procedure may cause areas of bruising although this would not normally be expected to occur. Any such bruising will be temporary. If you are taking any medication or dietary supplements that can affect platelet function and bleeding time, the severity and period of bruising can be extended, also the presence of petechiae (small red or purple spots beneath the skin) may be observed.
There is a small risk that hyperpigmentation of the skin can occur after the procedure, although this is not normally expected as the epidermis of the skin is not removed as a result of the procedure.
As with the use of any product, there is also a small risk of a reaction.
Post treatment advice:
After each treatment these rules must be taken into action. Failing to stick to these rules, will mean the treatment will not work or give the results we want to achieve!
Think of the 4 day rule – do not wash, sweat or shave head and protect from rain for 4 days.
After 4 days you can sweat, but not excessively. 10 days you can sweat excessively.
Refrain from touching the scalp with your hands until the pores have had the chance to close. DO NOT PICK OR PULL THE SKIN. Any redness should subside over a 24 – 36 hour period.
Gently wash the treated areas the next day, after treatment with lukewarm water but do not rub or massage the scalp for 1 week. Cleanse using a non-irritating shampoo such as the CLINICCARE Energizing Shampoo and Conditioner. It is recommended that the use of shampoos, other than those recommended by Jade, on the treated skin area is restricted until the redness subsides. Dry with a clean towel.
48 hours after treatment, the daily application of Amalian Hair Booster or Cebelia Anti-Hair Loss Lotion in the evening is recommended to help boost results.
Day 5 wash head with just warm water twice, Not with shower and do not soak head in bath just splash water on, No shampoo and rub gently. Now you can shave head, not with a razor only shavers or foil shavers.
Day 5 use moisteriser on scalp 3 times a day until appointment. This helps me out big time and you, making the scalp soft so the treatment goes in easier and the pain is less for you.
Use of a soothing and healing lotion such as Cebelia Soothing Lotion for Scalps is advised for a few days as skin may feel drier, tighter or itchy after treatment- this is quite normal.
Avoid products containing fragrance for 3-5 days after treatment as these may irritate the skin.
No swimming whatsoever. Only 30 days after the final treatment you can go.
Protect your head from the sun whilst having treatment and for 10 days post treatment, After 10 days use sun factor 30+ (such as the CLINICCARE Sun Shield Cream SPF30) on a daily basis for at least 2 weeks.
If wearing a hat do not wear a woolley one, only use a silk or cap.
Avoid hair dyes or bleaching while undergoing treatment.
Refrain from extreme temperatures such as intensive sunlight, saunas, sunbeds, steam baths or hairdryers on a hot setting for a period of at least 2 weeks after treatment.
